The fundamental building block of a high functioning team is Trust.  Trust in oneself, self efficacy, and trust in one's teammates to "be there," "be accountable," "be supportive," and "be committed" to team goals and objectives.

All of the initiatives, exercises, high, mid and low challenge courses, rock and ice climbing are designed as experiential learning tools to build individual and team trust levels over the course of your NLRI experience.  Whether it is holding the safety rope to keep a teammate from falling on a climb, or literally lending a hand  to stabilize your team members on our High Challenge Course "Earth Quake" Bridge the aim is the same: to learn to trust in yourself and your team to overcome obstacles and setbacks  in the midst of a "stressful", "pressured", and "risky" environment: i.e., competition

For Sports Teams,  we recommend at least a full day ( 6 hours ) of the NLRI experience to allow for a wider variety of experiences in a more leisurely progression from low to high elements that also includes ample time for debriefing and discussion of learning objectives. The full day also allows  time for sharing a meal as a team as part of their NLRI experience.
