Part #1:
    ▪    Learn the proper use of climbing equipment.
    ▪    Explanation of the classification system used for rock climbing.
    ▪    Explanation of the three types of climbing. (Top Rope, Bouldering, Lead Climbing)
    ▪    Learn how to tie into the rope properly as the climber using a figure eight follow-through.
    ▪    Learn the verbal signals used by the climber and the belayer.
    ▪    Learn the ABC's of climbing safety
    ▪    Learn how to properly set up a belay station.
    ▪    Learn belaying and lowering techniques.

   Part #2:
    ▪    The focus of this portion is to instruct the scouts on proper rappelling technique.
    ▪    Review belay techniques.
    ▪    Learn how to set up a rope to rappel.
    ▪    Learn how to secure the rappelling rope to the climbing harness.
    ▪    Go over how to lower oneself by rappelling.

   Part #3:
    ▪    Advanced knot tying and rope management. With comprehensive exercises, the scouts then practice their climbing, belaying, rappelling, and rope management skills at our state-of-the-art facility.
    ▪    The scouts must successfully pass a belay test.
    ▪    Learn four different knots used in climbing and demonstrate the ability to tie each one.
    ▪    Figure eight on a bight
    ▪    Figure eight follow-through
    ▪    Water knot
    ▪    Double fisherman's knot
    ▪    Learn the types of ropes used for climbing, rope care, and proper storage.
    ▪    Practice all the climbing safety techniques required for the Climbing Merit Badge.
