Available every season of the year, Northern Lights Rock and Ice birthday parties are always a big hit!  It’s a great opportunity to get young children and parents, teenagers, and adults playing in the fresh air, having fun, building confidence and friendships.  We have activities to suit all ages and abilities, and we have an enclosed porch and cozy cabin for your cake, ice cream, and gifts (20-25 minutes) after your activities (2 hours).

Birthday parties are 2 hours are $25/person (5-person minimum, and parents or guardians are welcome to join for the same price).  We ask that you come 15 minutes early for our staff to get waivers checked and the participants geared up for their activities. Large Group Parties with 9 - 15 participants are charged an additional flat fee of $35+tax; Birthday parties that include ice climbing or swimming are 3 hours at $35/person (5-person minimum 8-person maximum(ice climbing)10-person maximum(swimming)

Every activity at NLRI is done with an instructor; your party will have one to two instructors keeping your group engaged and active.  Please have minor children bring an NLRI waiver signed by their parent or guardian, these forms are downloadable by clicking here.

Possible activity choices appropriate for birthday parties every season of the year:

• Snow Tubing (All ages and parental supervision required) (winter season only)

• Rock Climbing (smallest harness must fit)

• High Course w/zip lines also available at night with headlamps (recommend 4 and above)

• Low Element Course (recommended 4 and above)

• Cargo net, bridges and Zip lines (recommended 4 and above)

• Survivor Challenge (low to the ground, suitable for all ages) (winter season only)

• Leap of Faith  (recommended 4 and above)

• GPS Treasure Hunt (all ages)

• Ice Climbing* (recommended for 12 and older and additional 3rd hour $35 flat fee applies).

• Indoor swimming pool at The Essex Resort(based on availability) additional 3rd hour $35 flat fee applies.

• Large Rainbow Play set (all ages)

In the winter months we have our real ice Climbing Wall ready for parents to try while the kids have their party, and we offer a 15% discount to our “Taste of Ice” rates (not valid with any other promotion) while the kids are enjoying their birthday party activities. 

Birthday Reservation Policy:

All participants and observers at Northern Lights Rock and Ice must have a signed risk waiver form.  A parent or legal guardian must sign for any persons under the age of 18.  Any participants 14 – 17 must also sign the waiver.  We reserve the right to deny access to participants who come to a program without a signed risk waiver form and/or who were not part of the number of participants confirmed prior to the program.   A deposit is required to hold your reservation. Credit cards are accepted on-site or by phone.  Any cancellations made within 7 days of your event will result in the loss of your deposit.
