Northern Lights Rock and Ice birthday parties are always a big hit with everyone all year round.  It’s a great opportunity to get young kids and parents, teenagers and adults playing in the fresh air, having fun, building confidence and bonding friendships, all at the same time.  We have activities to suit all ages and abilities.  We have an enclosed porch and cozy cabin for your cake, ice cream and gifts (20-25 minutes) after your activities (2 hours).

Birthday parties are 2 hours, $25/person (5-person minimum) (parents or guardians are welcome for the same price).  We recommend that you come 15 minutes early for our staff to get the participants geared up for their activities. Large Group Parties with 10 - 15 participants are charged an additional flat fee of $25; we always allow more time (approx 1 hour) for a larger group (automatically applies to swimming and ice climbing inclusive parties).

Every activity at NLRI is done with an instructor; your party will have one to two instructors keeping your group engaged and active.  Please have minor children bring an NLRI waiver signed by their parent or guardian, these forms are downloadable off of our website.

Possible activity choices appropriate for birthday parties every season of the year:

·       Snow Tubing (All ages and parental supervision required) (winter season only)

·       Rock Climbing (smallest harness must fit)

·       High Course w/zip lines also available at night with headlamps! 

          (recommend 4 and above)

·       Low Element Course (recommended 4 and above)

·       Cargo net, bridges and Zip lines (recommended 4 and above)

·       Survivor Challenge (low to the ground, suitable for all ages) (winter season only)

·       Leap of Faith  (recommended 4 and above)

·       GPS Treasure Hunt (all ages)

·       Ice Climbing (recommended for 12 and older and additional flat fee applies).

·       Indoors swimming pool at The Essex Resort (additional $10/per person and based

        on availability,  large group [10-15 participants] $25 flat fee applies ).

·       Large Rainbow Play set (all ages)

We encourage you to come by and get a tour of NLRI, please call me anytime to schedule a visit.  Monday through Friday we are open by reservation, day and evening hours available.  We are open regular hours on Saturday's and Sunday's 12 pm - 6 pm, if you just want to stop by. 

In the winter months we have our real ice Climbing Wall ready for Mom’s and Dad’s to try out while the kids have their party, I will discount our “Taste of Ice” rates by 15% (not valid with any other promotion) http://www.northernlightsvt.com/nlri/index.php/rates.html while the kids are enjoying their activities. 

Birthday Reservation Policy

All participants and observers at Northern Lights Rock and Ice must have a signed risk waiver form.  A parent or legal guardian must sign for any persons under the age of 18.  Any participants 14 – 17 must also sign the waiver.  We reserve the right to deny access to participants who come to a program without a signed risk waiver form and/or who were not part of the number of participants confirmed prior to the program.   A $79.50 deposit is required to hold your reservation. Credit cards are accepted on-site or by phone.  Any cancellations made within 7 days of your event will result in the loss of your deposit.

Please notify Northern Lights Rock and Ice (via email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) of the total number of confirmed participants, any changes or cancellations at least 7 days prior to your event.  This confirmed number of participants will be charged the per person rate on the day of your event with the Remaining Balance due on the day of your event.
